Telepresence on Fox 24 (March 1)
For those that watch 24 on Fox, here is a link to our discussions pertaining to Cisco telepresence.
I think Cisco has placed itself in a totally unique and potentially extremely profitable space with Telepresence. Cisco has realized that while all the technological improvements that have been made in the past 20 years have enabled incredible advancements in the speed and manner in which people communicate, one glaring omission has been the human-side of communication. With email and instant messaging now being such a crucial form of communication, there is a need for technology that allows more personal communication. The telepresence technology feels face-to-face and allows the nuances of communication and body language to translate. I think Cisco's slogan "the human network" also embodies this approach well. I expect to see Cisco take on an even more prominent role in the future of technological communication and I think they have positioned themselves well into a "sweet spot."
